Our Annual Meetings offer great speakers and many hours of CME. There is special programming for early-career psychiatrists.

Academy-sponsored symposia reach standing-room-only crowds at the APA Annual Meeting, the Institute for Psychiatric Services, and the World Psychiatric Association.

Outreach to Psychiatry and the related professions beyond the Academy
The Teichner Award, funded by a generous donor, supports psychodynamic teaching for Psychiatric Residency Training Programs in the US. More programs are being added.
The Journal Award and the Scott Schwartz Award encourage writing in our field and call attention to psychodynamic psychiatry.

Our favorably priced Professional Liability insurance program saves the average member thousands of dollars per year.

Our staff supports the activities of numerous Task Forces and Committees where our interested and engaged membership work together.
Dues and Donations
Members of the Academy can pay their dues online. Members may also make charitable contributions to the AAPDP for the following campaigns.
The General Fund. A direct contribution supports ongoing programs, among them the Academy’s publication and liaison activities.
The Annual Meeting Fund. This fund helps to offset the expenses for annual meetings (eg, free or low-cost activities for medical students and psychiatric residents) and helps to enhance the meeting experience for all attendees.
The Scott Schawrtz Award Fund. This fund supports a prize for the best original paper authored by a resident. It supports attendance at the annual meeting by the winning resident and provides a $500 honorarium.

Contributions or gifts to the American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry are deductible as charitable contributions for federal tax purposes.
